Reset

V- It didn’t take much to put me off today A sudden shadow, a look, a hint of grey Once in a while, I knew what I wanted Just for a while, I flirted with death Don’t want to die, but don’t feel like I’m living Days like today, the clock needs to reset C- Sometimes I feel like a slug in a sweater Moving too slow, and the plot’s wearing thin Don’t need to pop a new tune in the jukebox Stop it, rewind it and play it again V- My sense of timing is two time zones away Can’t wrap my brain around anything I say I’m landing none of the jokes that I’m telling I’ve got the yoke, but still crashing the jet Don’t want to die, but I can’t call this living Days like today, the clock needs to reset C- Sometimes I feel like a sloth in a trenchcoat Moving too slow, with a sinister spin Scratching my way ‘cross the grooves in the vinyl Pick up the needle and play it again Solo B- The world keeps on pushing But I know my limits It’s hard to withstand the absurdity, isn’t it? Color’s not color We all see it different And time’s just a construct of mind, are you getting it? Nothing’s as it seems C- Sometimes I feel like convenience store sushi Going down smooth, with a satisfied grin But I’ll return with a terrible vengeance Stop it, rewind it, and play it again
